Manual Outdoor Blinds
Operated by hand using a crank handle, cord or chain pulley, or spring-loaded mechanism. More affordable, no electrical components, unaffected by power outages.
Motorised Outdoor Blinds (Battery Operated)
Wireless operation with a remote control, so there is no wiring to run. Rechargeable batteries, with solar charging available on some models. Best for large or hard-to-reach blinds.

Mesh filters wind and cuts glare rather than sealing a space, so expect rain to pass through the weave in a coastal storm. Track-guided systems, with the fabric running in side channels, cope best when the wind picks up.
