OUTDOOR BLINDS BRISBANE

Outdoor Blinds for Brisbane Homes and Cafes

Brisbane's long, humid summers and sudden storm season make outdoor blinds more of a practical fixture than a decorative one. We build every blind in our own South Australian factory and install them across Brisbane — mesh, manual, battery or motorised — sized to fit whatever patio, pergola or alfresco space you're working with.

What Our Brisbane Outdoor Blinds Are Built to Do

Whether it's a back patio or a cafe's outdoor seating, our outdoor blinds are built to:

  • Block the sun’s UV and keep heat from building up through summer, then cut the wind to take the edge off a cold, exposed area in winter — so the space stays usable most of the year.
  • Offer protection against extreme weather, so your outdoor area stays comfortable and usable when the weather turns.
  • Give privacy to a patio, or define an outdoor dining area without walling it off.
  • Take a humid summer and a sudden storm season without mould getting a foothold in the fabric.
  • Come in 28 mesh colours, so a home alfresco and a commercial frontage can each suit their setting.

Our Outdoor Blind Colour Palette

Frequently asked questions

Can they cope with a Brisbane storm season?

Mesh filters wind and cuts glare rather than sealing a space, so expect rain to pass through the weave in a heavy storm. Track-guided systems, where the fabric runs in side channels, perform best when the wind picks up ahead of a storm.

Will mesh block the afternoon sun without cutting off the breeze?

Yes — that's the main reason mesh is the pick here. It blocks and reflects up to 95% of the solar energy while still letting air move through.

How much do outdoor blinds cost in Brisbane?

Expect $200 to $1,200 per blind depending on size, fabric and control type. We will beat or match any genuine quote for the same product with the same dimensions and specifications.

What can outdoor blinds be mounted to?

Blinds mount to timber, steel, aluminium, brick or concrete, custom-made to fit almost any opening. Patios, pergolas, decks, verandas and alfresco dining areas cover most of what we see across Brisbane.

How do I stop mould on outdoor blinds in Brisbane's humidity?

Brisbane's humidity means mould and mildew are the main things to stay ahead of. Hose blinds down every two to three months, lowering them fully first, and for stubborn marks use a soft cloth with mild detergent in warm water, working top to bottom. Avoid abrasive cleaners and pressure washers, and always let the blind dry completely before rolling it back up.

Do I need council approval for outdoor blinds in Brisbane?

Outdoor blinds on an existing patio, pergola or verandah generally don't need council approval, though this can vary by council and by whether the property is heritage-listed. A quick check with Brisbane City Council is worthwhile if you're unsure.

What is the mesh fabric made from and what is it certified for?

The mesh is UV treated, Microban antimicrobial treated, fire retardant rated to AS 1530.2 and AS/NZS 1530.3, and Greenguard certified as a low chemical emitting product — not a generic shade cloth. In Brisbane's humidity the antimicrobial treatment earns its place more than it would somewhere drier. If you are comparing quotes, ask what fabric certification the other supplier can actually show you.

Do you make blinds for cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating?

Bistro and cafe blinds are a lighter, simpler build than our standard outdoor blinds, and they suit cafes and restaurants running outdoor seating year-round. If you are weighing a residential patio against a commercial outdoor dining area, ask us which of the two actually suits the setup rather than defaulting to the standard product.
